The 25th Annual Celebrating Life! Free Juried Art Competition Las Vegas 2025 was held on May 29th. The event was sponsored by the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Arts Commission.
The reception was held at the Charleston Heights Arts Center Ballroom. The competition pitted the finest senior artists in five Southern Nevada Counties: Clark, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Mineral and Nye.
Light refreshment and appetizers were provided.
It was a standing-room-only packed audience of art lovers. Artwork by two-hundred and seventy talented artists was submitted.
Festivities were lively and fast-paced. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honorable mention were awarded in each of six categories: acrylic/oil, ceramics, drawing/pastel, mixed media, photography, sculpture, and watercolor/gouache.
The exhibition runs through September 11, 2025.
The prize for Best of Show was $500.
Las Vegas City Mayor Shelley Berkley was the keynote speaker.
My cowboy picture seen above was selected for the exhibit, but did not place.
