The style of painting is Impressionistic. It’s a heavy painterly style, but rich in color and texture.

In the painting, I tried to achieve chaotic movement with the horse, the rider, the saddle and in the cloud behind the rider. I even wanted the ground in flux.

The Impressionistic style gives you a strong sense of texture, a tangible feel to it all.

It’s the same painting technique the famous Western artist Frederick Remington employed at the turn of the 19th Century.
I think the style is fascinating and comes across really well when magnified.
