The style of painting is Impressionism. It’s a heavy painterly style, but rich in color and texture.

In the painting, I tried to achieve chaotic movement with the horse, the rider, the saddle and in the cloud behind the rider. I even wanted the ground in flux.

The style gives you a strong sense of texture, a palpable feel to it.

I think the style is fascinating and comes across really well when enlarged.

In fact, it’s a similar painting technique to the famous Western artist Frederick Remington who worked at the turn of the 19th Century.
